The Translation Journal is a publication dealing with topics related to industrial translation and the problems faced by professional translators. It intends to build on the tradition of the Sci-Tech Translation Journal of the American Translators Association, with which I was associated for 10 years as a contributor, desktop publisher, and editor, and offer the translator community a quality publication dealing with both technical and business aspects of our profession. This Journal was to appear on the World-Wide Web under the aegis of the ATA and hosted by ATA’s Web server. Unfortunately, however, we were unable to solve some problems concerning the mechanism of file uploads by the editor.
The TJ is not intended to be an academic journal. While we welcome scholarly articles, our main purpose is to serve the working professional translator by providing him or her with useful and interesting information. Our articles are edited for grammar, spelling, and style (and occasionally for content), but not formally peer-reviewed.

Permite estudar a tradução humana e contrastar o português (Portugal, Brasil, Angola, Moçambique) e o inglês (Reino Unido, EUA, África do Sul) através de pesquisas automáticas. Por exemplo, se inserirmos uma palavra em português, podemos ver como essa palavra foi traduzida para inglês em diferentes contextos.

The new Handbook addresses the many challenges facing translators today, including the continuing consolidation and globalization of the publishing industry and the decline in the number of translations published annually. The section "A Translator's Model Contract" (accompanied by explanatory notes) serves to guide beginning and experienced translators through the process of contract preparation and negotiation. The fourth edition now includes a convenient "Dos and Don'ts" section, highlighting key points in the contract negotiation experience. The section on royalty payments has also been brought up to date, and incorporates an alternate royalty clause that should be of interest to translators and publishers alike. Also included in the fourth edition is an expanded discussion of international copyright issues as they relate to the art of literary translation.
